WHY COMMUNITY IS SO IMPORTANT WHEN TAKING THE JUMP

Communities can showcase how the world could be, what this joyous future looks and feels like.

There are few clear examples of a post-consumer world to inspire people. Communities can model places with less consumption but more care, craft, creativity, comedy, collaboration, connection.

Change is easier and lasts longer when done together.

Having people to share the journey while trying the six shifts helps overcome the many barriers to action.

Communities can go further.

We can’t put on events on our own. When we come together in the same place over time, share ideas and resources, amazing innovations and energy arise.

People listen to people they know.

By working with community leaders, we can reach beyond the usual suspects, find new perspectives and stories.

Strengthens community resilience and connection.

By bringing people together and building connections through groups and events.

Take the jump

‘Taking The JUMP’ is to try the six shifts for 1, 3 or 6 months.

Even if you can’t keep to it 100%, you can still ‘take The JUMP’ and just do what you can.

We'll offer tips, encouragement and people you can speak to help along the way.
