Town of godalming takes the jump

On the 5th of July 2021 the UK town of Godalming became the first to ‘take The JUMP’

Launched with a community fair where ‘JUMPing for JOY’ was the focus, not more stuff...

The day had talks, poetry, dancing and workshops. With speakers like Liba Rivandran, a poet and activist working to address social injustice.

Music from 5 different bands, with David and Shirely even writing and performing their own JUMP theme tune!

Stalls for each of the six shifts with lots to learn and discover

Each stall included information and things to do associated with each of the JUMP’s Six Shifts, and was run by a local community group. For instance the Travel Well stall was run by the local cycle campaign.

The Six Shifts are the changes that the science says everyone living comfortably needs to make in the next 10 years to avoid climate meltdown. There’s fun ways to help with these shifts, like this ‘community clothes give away’.
